Dayton Children's Medical Center is a pediatric hospital located in Dayton, Ohio. The Medical center is a multi-specialty hospital that saw 6,646 total admissions, 66,570 visits to the emergency department and 70,366 outpatient visits for the fiscal year of 2009-2010.[1] In 2003, the hospital was ranked one of America’s top 25 children’s hospitals by Child (magazine). The hospital is staffed with 1,335 full-time employees, 291 part-time employees, and 248 physicians.[2] Dayton Children's Medical Center is currently the only pediatric hospital in the Dayton region.
Dayton Children's Medical Center is also partered with Kohls a Minute for Kids.[3] The Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University is the affiliated university.[4]

The Dayton Children's Medical Center was founded in 1967 and was originally known as The Barney Children's Medical Center. In 1970, the hospital's name changed to be what it is today. Also that same year, Dayton Children's evolved into a 155-bed private, not-for-profit hospital for infants, children and adolescents. On February 1, 1980, The Ronald McDonald House was completed for the benefit of Dayton Children's patients and their families.[5]

Dayton Children's Medical Center has several outpatient testing centers in the Dayton area. These centers are located in Vandalia, Beavercreek, Springboro and Kettering.[8]
